WordPress Package Step by Step What We Do after you Place an Order

When we get a new order for a WordPress package – the basic WordPress package is just R420 per year, and includes .co.za domain registration and hosting! – we go through a certain step by step procedure before we send you your log in details to your new site.

WordPress package order, step by step what we do:

1)
ASAP thank the client for the order and let them know we will send the invoice soon, then asap or within 24 to 36 hours, send the client the invoice and the ‘thank you for order’ email, adding “instuctions to set up your email box/es” to the list of “we send you,” if its needed. ALSO, let the client know that the following year (a year later when the client’s package expires) the renewal fees will be due by such and such a date, or the other such and such a date (perhaps they rather want to wait for the end of the month before they pay and get their new site)

2)
upon confirmation of payment send the ‘thank you for payment’ email (asap), remember to also tell that we will be sending email box set up instructions too, if the client has chosen that option.) Make a folder for the client on our computer, add the invoice to the client’s folder

3)
order the domain and hosting asap so that the client can have their site within 36 to 48 hours of us having received confirmation of payment

4)
upon sorting ftp log in details,
upload the site to the host server,
add the chosen free WordPress theme,
do some of the site’s settings:
including permalinks,
fb like button,
akismet comment spam filter,
comments enabled and to be first moderated,
delete hello dolly plugin,
replace the log in etc widget content with a pages widget, perhaps, and add a recent posts widget too, perhaps.
And the client’s email address in first widget near top. Perhaps do the set up to be that the first page visitors see is their homepage/welcome page, and not the recent posts summary list?
Also remember to add at the bottom our “Hosting and initial set up by TnT Unleashed” link.
Disable comments on their first page and first post. (Client can enable comments later once more used to their site.)
Delete AND then empty trash for the default comment that comes with the free WordPress theme.

5)
copy and paste the ftp details onto notepad and save into the clients’ folder on our computer – at the top of the ftp details page add the username and password for logging into the WordPress control panel/dashboard – also add their initial email address they used
when they contacted us (or the one they choose to display on their site) and their phone number

6)
send the “your site is ready/live” email to the client,
attach the “how to check the site’s traffic stats” document, and also attach the email box set up instructions if the client chose that option – be sure to then also modify the base email too, to say/include that it is attached (beneath where we say the “check your site’s traffic stats” doc is attached.)
Remember to also modify the “check traffic stats” document that we attach each time, for a new client.

7)
also send the “further help email” right after the “site is ready” email

8)
Add any other communications between the client and ourselves to their folder, as well as anything else related to should they want further assistance, customizations, invoices etc etc

9)
about a week later or so, once the site has hopefully got some content added by the client or by us if hired to add content etc, submit the site to search engines, and place an ad on Vottle for the client

10)
refresh the ad on Vottle monthly, and delete it after it’s been on Vottle a total of three months

11)
email the client roughly about 11 months later to warn of yearly renewal fees coming up soon (see base email to use when emailing clients that their renewal is coming up at the end of the month.)
